How A Wall Knock Through Is Achieved

The first step in achieving a wall knock through would be to structurally support the load above the wall .

When walls are load bearing they are unsafe to remove without proper structural support because if they are removed without structural support the whole property is structurally unsafe and not habitable .

So to structurally support the loads above the wall we would have to prop up the above loads with specific tools such as Strong Boy supports , acrows and the wide knowledge of our structural specialists .

Firstly we would have to open up the top of the wall being taken out and then fit in our Strong Boy supports and then prop these supports up with across . This would then allow all the loads above the wall being taken out to be totally structurally supported.

Once this has happened we can then start taking down the wall , this would be done with a Kango drill to destabilise the brickwork and then a bolster hammer to take away the brickwork of the wall .

After all of this brickwork is taken down we would remove all of the debris and then the process of permanently structurally supporting the loads above the wall must begin.

We would do this by installing a steel and replacing the Strong Boy supports with this steel with the steel either lying on brickwork/ block of the other walls or a padstone .

This would then totally structurally support the loads above and whatever next phase would then be done , for example building the conservatory .
